Hi,

I thought I would ask in advance, what maybe a dumb question !

I have ordered up a set of staggered 18" wheels and tyres for my C204 Coupe, the existing wheels on my car are 16"

Can I use the existing wheel bolts on the 18"'s or do I need to purchase different ones ?

Many thanks in advance

If your new wheels are aftermarket, you will need New bolts, aftermarket wheels use tapered bolts, are you not getting bolts with the wheels?

The new wheels are genuine Mercedes, model number A2054011200

Then your existing bolts should be OK, the fact that you new wheels are 18" shouldn't make a difference, but obviously test fit one first.

Some say that bigger wheels with lower profile tyres, on British roads is, in fact, a DOWNgrade.

They would be for me with the roads in my part of France.

Yep lots of physics at work like unsprung mass which is the main contributor to loss of ride quality as the dampers become less capable and more dynamic losses .

Very misused term as the only upgrade is visual .

Many moons ago I upgraded my 16" wheels on my E Class Estate to 18", sold them within a month, gave a very harsh ride. Looked good, but that was all.

Looked good, but that was all.

And I had the opportunity, back in 2017, of buying for 1000€, a brand new set of the correct AMG 17" rims for my W124 Sportline. And I didn't bother.

Because I'm a tw@t.

That' why I'm not rich!!!
