Both my USB ports are not working on my 2017 GLA after fitting a like for like radio.

It seems like the USB Ports in your 2017 GLA stopped working after installing the new radio. Let's try a few things:

A lot of these sort of circuits are current limited - with foldback and if they encounter a short or excessive current they ‘foldback’ the current and voltage

I have two fuses on my USB ports....one for the front seats and one for the rear.

Mr Google tells me that you have a common fault. The board blows and needs to be replaced either from MB or from alternative suppliers

They are wired to the radio, that’s where they get their power from.

For sure. See post above. There’s no fuse between the port and the “radio” so the whole port board blows. See discussion threads on Google.
The whole board needs to be replaced.

If the USB ports are fed from the radio, and you've just installed a new radio.... then did you check the output of the radio with a voltmeter? There's should be a live feed to the USB ports from the radio (either 5v or 12v).

I have replaced the multimedia module with a new one for Mercedes still not working, could there possibly be a break in the wiring or connection from the radio ?
