User comments

Hi all,

Does anyone out there know how to add user comments to a personal website?

I want to give my friends the opportunity to add their "funny " comments to pictures I have posted, without resorting to using services such as flickr etc.

I have MySQL enabled with my host, but I know zilch about how to create the code on the page to link it to the DB.

Any help/links would be appreciated.

You could use your own gallery software: have a look at Coppermine for one or Gallery (there's loads of others). Your webhost may even have suitable software installed that just needs to be setup on your account.

Failing that, you need to setup your mySQL database and use (probably) PHP for the code; bit daunting if you've never coded before

Probably best to check with your host first ...
