Hi all,

Has anybody used this tool before and where I can get it?

It is used for pulling the HT leads and spark plugs on the V6 engine.

Hi djcheung,

You'll need to upload your photo to a server rather than try to link to your local hard drive.

Do you mean this? For the M112 V6?

Hi Stats007,

That's exactly the tool I was looking at.

Do you know if it will do the job on the W210 V6?

Is it available in the UK?

Thanks
David.

Yours has the M112 V6 I believe - it works for the M113 V8s too. Basically it's just a long 17mm spanner with angled ends. I'd be very surprised if you couldn't just buy one in a good tool shop.

When I changed my plugs I looked at that tool, then saved my money and used a 17mm spanner, levered on the cam cover. It worked just fine.

I suppose the angled end gives you a better fit as I know some people have broken the leads as theyre on so tight. Try a normal spanner and see how you get on.

Stats007 is right - they are really tight; don't be tempted to try and help them off by pulling the lead.

The spanner works well - I think you will find getting the little s0ds back on is tricky though

Watch your knuckles - also I sliced my finger on the air filter housing removing it from a sharp plastic edge!

At last, I have replaced the spark plugs yesterday afternoo in between the showers.
I had the wrong spark plug socket where the diameter is a friction too large. It went in ok but as it warmed up it kind of got stuck so it took me over 20minutes to get it loose. After the first two plugs, the rest only took about an hour. So saved myself £150 as quoted by the Merc Ind.
The 17mm spanner did the trick but I had to use two different lengths, long one for the easy to reach and the short one near the bulkhead.

Thanks everyone for your help.

i got my one from mb to do my 240 sport it's £23
