V8 Badges

Just let them go and proceed normally.

It's their fuel and tyres ................

It'll just encourage them. If you ignore them they go away after a while.

Done it . Replace the Avantgarde badges with them , less is more.

They're quite nice actually. Did they come colour coded?

Fab colour that 430 btw.

Just pull the Avantgarde badges off and remove the sticky residue with white spirit. There's no need to colour code them.

Quick wipe over with meths and then bang your V8 badges on !!

It looks nice Howard. Not sure whether Chavs and Barrys with fully understand the meaning of the badge.

They'll probably think its an 8 valve :-)

I think V8 badges look tacky but thats my opinion, and if you like how they look on Howard's car then go for it!

I would suggest removing the CLK430 badge maybe for a more subtle look, and the V8 badges on the side so if people DO look, they know what to expect.

Do you think the V8 Kompressor badges on the CL55 look tacky ?

The whole point of taking off the Avantgarde badges is to make it look OEM , not like a badge fest on the wings.

If it was an 8 valve , would the decals not be round the other way ? i suppose if you were dyslexic you might get mixed up.

Was going to take the 430 badging off but being a red(ish) car , i was worried about any fading issues as red fades in the sun , mine doesn't look faded to be honest but i bet it is a different colour under the badge.

i think it looks fine, go for it,

on my C36 i replaced the"sport" badges with "AMG" ones, the E55 has come without ANY badges, but i will be putting the "V8 Kompressor" badge back on the wing! :)

the barry`s and chavs only ever see the back of my car anyway, and thats without me trying! lol! (hence the rear badges are also going back on so they know what just whizzed past them).

My CLK55 AMG has no side badging, a factory option and makes the side of the car look clean and tidy IMHO

Each to their own and I think Howard's picture looks pretty good, but IMHO - you've got a V8, there's no need to shout about it though :)

Do they do V6 ones ? ;)

Apparently the Germans like their cars de-badged, so apart from the MB propeller, nothing at all.

Maybe just a V then

Yup, some M-Bs (Viano for example) have them on the front wings.

I did buy an OEM V6 badge for my Vito but decided to go stealthy instead :D

Yes de-badging is very common in Germany, but for tax reasons base models (small engines) are very popular ... and I think the two are linked :D

When I took my Sharan V6 4Motion to a VW main dealer in Germany they had never seen one before ... they'd only ever sold 1.9 TDis.

I kno V6 and V8 badges are avalible thru MB
The V6 is used on Viano and the V8 badge unless listed on a car can be supplied by a commercial dealer as it used on the front grille of the MP2 (934) Mercedes Actros V8 ;)

It forms part of the side badges of the 55 kompressor family. ( if you want it in the correct style )
