hi, i was wondering the v8 engine in my 420 sl 150k all oil pressure good no blue or black smoke withapropper service yearly how many more miles would i get doing only 2k motorway driving
regards damien :) :)

i have a 420 CL - with 176,000 on he clock at the mo - no engine probs - so thats easily another 13 years...

the rest of the car will rot before the engine gives up - but bank on a camchain repacement at somthing like 150 - 200,000 miles..

There's a number of owners in the US with 400-500k miles on their cars and most of them are running with the original engines and seem to have had very few problems!

hi, thanks guys looks like the old girls still got a few more years left
regards damien

The valve guides and seals will probably be the first part to show wear, indicated by blue smoke after an over-run then acceleration situation.
