I was just wondering if there was anyone on here that is involved in international vehicle shipment or knows anyone that is? any help greatly appreciated.

Google shipping agents Jack, I think there is quite a bit of paperwork involved...

I've used Kingstown shipping numerous times. They're very reliable. Ask for Mark Cowley

Its a minefield to ship there, sure i can put you in touch with someone that can help. First off you will need to check if the car is eligible for shipping, ie do they allow that particular car.

2 ways to do it -

1. If you are an Australian citizen and can prove you have owned, insured and used the car over here for 12 months or more then you can take it over on the personal import scheme ( taxes to be paid )

2. If it is on a very specific list ( which there are no Mercs ) then you can take it over. Costs will be as follows -

Around £1500 Shipping
2% Insurance
5% Tax
33% Luxury Car Tax ( over $57000 of the cars percieved value )
Keep around $2000 contingency as they sometimes like to steam clean your car at port, allow for transportation etc.

Then budget anything between $4000 to $25000 to make the car road legal.

Unless its a real exotic, then take my advice and buy a similar car over there.

Cheers,
Rob
