Ventilated seats ??

You may well hear them more than you can feel them. They don't blow air out though...they suck it in...I believe.
They suck it in from the vents in the back of the seats and "blow" (puff) it out through the holes in the seat cushion. Still hopeless!

I find the ventilated seats to work well on my w211.

I also wondered whether or not mine worked when I first got the car. But I’ve since found them to be very effective at preventing any stickiness in the nether region on long drives in hot weather. They were a godsend during our Europe tour.

As others have said my Jag XF had them cooled through the air-con and the really were the cool dogs danglies when you need them on.
MB ones in my E63s, pahh! Can hardly notice the difference! Whats going on in the "Seating Department" at MB? Surely if jag can do it well so can you! o_O

Must confess I haven't tried driving naked but take your word for it as far as the nether region is concerned [emoji33]

As has been mentioned Jaguar and a few others use the Peltier device and not the air conditioning system to cool the seats. It is it would appear a step up from the ventilated seats in most other cars as it is cold one side and hot the other (from my brief cursory reading of the device).
Either way I wouldn't buy a car without vented seats having had to travel some long distances on the occasional hot day I've been grateful for their inclusion in the car.

I wonder what the sensation is if one had the heated and ventilated option on together now that would be rather sticky lol.

As said can feel the ventilation working on a hot day it does take the sticky feeling away it's not ice cold but I doubt one would want it ice cold in that region.

The Jag's seems to be connected to the aircon, my wife couldn't use them due to wanting to pee but I found them excellent when driving in a suit to meetings. XFR great engine, I had no trouble at all with my Jag but have read elsewhere they are known to be unreliable, I must have been very lucky with 3 years no faults..

My XFR was trouble free too , i would say one of the best cars i have ever owned. The B+W sound system was awesome too.

Not suited for a warm hot sticky day then!!
Think I'll stick to just the vent option lol
It is just a nice warm, dry seat.

Hi,
We have them on our ML63.
They are certainly not air conditioned - just ventilated.
If you look on back of our seats you can see a module with the air vents and fans to draw air from back of car through the ventilated seat holes.
We find it works better if rear air conditioning is set to a colder temperature - as the air being drawn through the seats is therefore colder.
47 degrees centigrade doing the school run on Wednesday afternoon - so the ventilated seats were very welcome - in addition to the hard working A/C!
Cheers
Steve
47 degrees - good lord, way way too hot!
I'm just back from the Caribbean(east), mid thirty's on a few days, but no feckin wind, so too hot. On days with a breeze it was nice - you just didn't feel like your were getting burnt, until after a shower later in that evening.
