Vibration When Accelerating Uphill

My e class has a vibration when accelerating uphill. It's usually always between one and two thousand revs. Like a shake..... Read it can be engine mounts or gearbox mounts or leak in air hoses etc. Don't think it's gearbox related now after driving the car more. One fault on stars which was cleared but didn't affect this issue. Any ideas?

It could be any of the above.
Propshaft could also be a cause of vibration under load.

Thank you, one thing I forgot to add that may help.... When it does the vibrating.... You are putting your foot down yet the rev counter ticks downwards however hard you press accelerator until it has changed gear or you stop accelerating.

If you press the accelerator pedal hard when going up hill, the transmission should change down immediately, the revs should increase and this will allow you to accelerate.
Check the automatic transmission fluid level in your auto transmission.
If it is low, this could explain the problem and you could easily damage the transmission.

What E class , year and model ? When was the last gearbox service ? They are recommended every 40k

E270 CDI 2003 can't see from history that it was done in last couple of years. Definitely happy to get it done.

It’s just a possibility, you need to find an MB specialist really who knows these cars , where do you live for a recommendation?

Just a thought , is there any oil in the coolant ? Some of the early Valeo radiator cars suffered this that messed with the gearbox
Have to be honest, I wouldn't know how to check.

Also open the bonnet and rev the engine , see if it jumps about . A bit like this . The mounts are oil filled and fail over time as does the one on the transmission. Not a massive job and quite common.
