Hi all
bought a 300se24v (w140) today to be a donor for my sl.
drove it 150-odd miles home and it seems a real shame to break it. Body good, delamination of rear screen, reasonably low spec car but everything works, just over 100k miles but no history as lost by prev owner, it was a trade-in and drives like 100k not 300k !
it seems to have a weird vibration/shudder which spoils the car. The best i can describe it is that as you accelerate it shudders (not engine misfire-type), if you decelerate the car shudders, but if you hold it at te speed you have changed to it seems to "settle down". Weird. I do think the wheels want balancing and I know the tracking wants doing, but i was wondering what the members thought it could be? Its the "settles down" that has me puzzled. I have a couple of ideas but am interested.
