I want to see the spec on the AMG running gear fitted to an SL60....anybody got a VIN number I can borrow?

The later cars (post '96) used the 722.620 transmission - the same as the 500s but reprogrammed as far as I know.

Sorry, probably me not being clear enough....Back up plan c if I don't find a decent to 60 is to upgrade with an AMG conversion kit.....springs, shocks, torsion bar etc. They want about 1400 + vat but if I can get a VIN number I'll be able to see if I can upgrade more cost effectivley, I suspect the component parts are Bilstien etc and not AMG. Could well be wrong.

AMG suspension was still an option on the SL60s. You might need to look at an early car if retro-iftting to your 500SL. You don't need a VIN - just have a look at the EPC for part numbers.

Have you looked into the insurance ramifications of doing this? It might be minimal but you would definitely be well advised to check first.

Good luck
John

Shouldn't be to bad John....an SL60 will increase my premium by £50.00 pa and all I'm doing is uprating the shocks & steering etc to that of an SL60, but without the power increase....still, you may be right, Ins Co's work in mysterious ways, I should know, I was in Lloyds a few centuries ago !!
