Bought the MBU2000 from comandonline earlier this week, to put in a W204 with prewire.

However I seem to get stuck and COMAND doesn't see the phone - it just says "Telephone not inserted"

I have tried switching bluetooth off (as suggested on the website), but I seem to get further with it on. It appears to give access to the 'convenience phone' options when the car bluetooth is on, but not when it is off.

I am new to prewire so not sure what is happening, I thought the MBU2000 would be seen as a phone to COMAND. COMAND does bring up some info regarding the convenience phone, but when I try to do anything the not inserted message comes up.

The MBU2000 is pairing with my phone fine.

Any insight greatly appreciated.

Some more info...with bluetooth off I get the feeling the phone doesn't see the prewire part at all. As soon as I go to the telephone options it says Bluetooth not activated, as if it doesn't know about prewire and with bluetooth off it has no phones available to it.

Does prewire need to be activated? As it was factory fit, I would assume this was all switched on?

This sounds odd. Have you emailed in the problems to us? If not, please do so and we will look into it for you. What phone are you using?

Alfie, I drop you an email.....

The sony phones are notoriously poor at connecting and downloading phone books. I'll check the email and one of us will come back to you.

I have a similar problem with a Polaris HTC on a W204 also. Could you help?

I know that Triamp are working on a software fix. No W204 in Taiwan has the comfort phone option - so they hadn't seen it before.

Now they have a W204 with retrofitted comfort phone, so i'm sure there will be a software upgrade soon.

The W204 comfort phone system is very different to the normal UHI system. The UHI system sits on the fibre optic bus. On the W204 the cradle connector actually is not connected to the head unit data connections - only to power/ground & a power-on connection - it communicates via Bluetooth to the head unit !

Cheers

Richard
