I've recently gone from 195/70/15 rims to 225/55/17 wheels and tyres which is a much bigger and wider tyre and rim it looks great since then when I'm turning a corner or going round a bend accelerating the abs kicks in for a split second applying the brakes I know it's the abs as I took the fuse out and it doesn't do it but I get all the dashboard warning lights on abs ebs traction control this has only happened since the larger wheels were out on does anybody know why this is happening it's driving me mad and is it ok to drive without the abs on any help or ideas would be really appreciated

Someone will be able to explain why the different wheel/tyre does this I am sure.
Sorry to be a 'party pooper' but it may interest you to know that that you are putting yourself on offer by disabling the ABS because that constitutes Dangerous Condition……………look at part 8 in this link.

I would suggest solving the problem rather than hiding it.

Thanks for the reply I know what your saying I've just tried the old wheels back on and it was worse it's definetly a brake problem but at the minute it's safer with the abs off

Sounds obvious but have you damaged the cable or sensor (or have the new wheels been rubbing) while swopping the wheels?

No the wheels wernt rubbing on anything I checked there was good clearance all round I thought it might be some kind of sensor as I put the old wheels back on and it was twice as bad so now I've got the new ones on again
