Vito/Viano rear light cluster

Evening all,
Just wondered if anyone knows if the rear light cluster from a viano (the more stylish one), will fit a vito fitted with a tailgate rather than barn door version.
I’m sure it has to be a universal fitting??
The version i’m asking about is the w639 (2012).

If you mean the one with the black top half no. It is shaped to fit the glass. The earlier ones, with the tail/brake in the top half are exactly the same. If you want the top half black you can get a black spray paint that will let red light through from Frost Restorations called Night Shades. Works very well and looks good.

I've looked at a few later Viano's with a view to install some on my 2007 Viano. What I have noticed is that the glass on the tailgate is wider on the later models. If you were to install the new lights you would have about a 1" gap between the glass and the lights on W639 Vito's and Viano's. I'm sure all early Vito's with a tailgate and Viano's share the same lights and tailgate, the only difference I've seen is that the Viano has a colour coded handle (that must account for the ridiculous priced they charged for the Viano!)
