W0203 Steering Noise

Hope you can help an untechnically savvy individual.!

I have a C200k 1998cc W0203 and when I turn the steering wheel I get a pronounced whirring noise, not grinding, the wheel does not have to be on full lock to get the noise either. No affect on the steering and no warning signs, no apparant loss of any fluids and seems to disappear after 10 mins of driving.

Any pointers would be gratefully received before I take the car in to the garage.

Could be a lack of Power Steering fluid. As the fluid warms it becomes less viscous and probably reaches the parts it wasn't reaching when cold.

Thanks Rose Chap - I did check for loss of fluids and all seem okay - but will have another shufty at it, cheers
