correct on the w114 and prior/older models exception for w107 it is 5 digit and wraps round to zero

very good price since it has mot on it, normally rubbish ones go for that price very rare to see M reg as historic or tax exempt, he also has 350 slc from first batched LHD, and real bargain BIgA sec with free 500 sec attached for £400 a real bargain

Given that the windows are steamed up and the heater does not work, I'd say there is major rust in the engine bulkhead. Apparently, water collects in the plenum chamber due to the drains being blocked, the bulkhead rusts thru and water gets into the heater motor.

I don't know, the whole thing smells, and I bet the inside of that cars does too!

And why a photo of one of the other cars he's selling taken from across the other side of the road???

I'm no specialist, but it looks like a whole lot of trouble to me, a right 'rust-bucket' and 'money-pit'!

If he does get notes, it's most probably from Steptoe & Son....... lol.

Sorry.....

It's not an Historic Vehicle - it just has black/silver plates.

it is tax exempt though as far as i know the logbook will have historic i have 350 slc and it classed as historic 1972

it is rare and people want it somebody will buy it around 2.7k i reckon

u r wrong i had the log book scan sent it is tax exempt and historic car as it was manufactured in 1972 (confirmed by germany) and it is date of manufacture not date of registration the dvla uses and that is the bases on which u can appeal decision to the dvla if your car is not classed as tax exempt (btw code for tax exempt is historic car) based on date of manufacture no first registration not many people know that

this is now confirmed

if u want to see the scan pm me

or email the seller direct with yr email and ask him directly

I have been through this whole process myself with my old 1972 350SL. According to the DVLA if the vehicle was sold and first registered in the UK then it has to be before 1st Jan 1973 (actually 7th Jan as they give a weeks grace). If the car was registered outside of the UK then the DoM can be used. Based on that - this car should not be Historic, regardless of what the V5 now says.

If it was purely down to the DoM - why even ask for the the Date of First Registration? :dk:

this car was always parked up on the main roadinto woodford green from the waterworks exit ofthe A406. i used to see it all the time parked up on the drive next to a 7 series beemer.
