Hey,

I'm looing for tips for bring out the black in seals around windows and and the plastic trim beneath chrome strips. Car is a 1982 estate and while the rubber and plastic trim is in good nick, the colour has faded.

Also, what is the best way to treat and maintain chrome finishes?

For the rubber seals, try a cloth with a tad bit of oil on it, should bring it up. Or you can go for the expensive stuff made by zymol.

Chrome, i use autosol chrome cleaner (not the metal cleaner!).

Hi

I've found Auto Glym Bumper Care a brilliant product for refurbishing faded black plastic.

As for chrome,I would use car polish to protect and maintain it,using a chrome or metal polish/cleaner only if the chrome has surface tarnish or rust blemishes. The reason for this is if chrome cleaning products are used regularly the chrome finish will eventually become abraded away(it's extremely thin-less than 0.001 inch.

Cheers Steve
