Hi all
So I'm looking for help/advise with my W123 2.0 petrol Stromberg 175 CD carburettor 1985 , the car previously started on the button no trouble at all but has suddenly become reluctant to fire up , it will turn over easily and the plugs are good although very wet with fuel , it's almost "firing" but not quite getting "there". New rotor arm fitted - no change , good spark, If it does start it runs great, only use premium fuel, Does anybody know someone in the southeast (Eastbourne area) to contact or who might help ? regards

Not a MB specialist, but Berwick Service Station beside Berwick railway station is a good 'old school' garage who are used to dealing with older tech vehicles. Maybe worth a call.

Damp in a cracked distributor cap?

Pull plugs out a dry them ,then let it siot a bit ,and try again, if flooded it will take ages to start and just keeps pushing fuel in to make it worse .

Check the ballast resistors, there are two. If the engine seems to catch but not run, one could be broken.
