My w124 320 auto with 195k has an annoying fault in the fact it runs, drives a starts brilliantly but it stalls with out warning when you are slowing down or when you touch the throttle to move away. It seems at the moment the throttle is touched the revs drop before going up. Also it sometime feels as if the ecu is trying to stop the stall. Eg, when at slow speeds the revs drop really low then shoot back up again, it does this afew times then it stablises and is ok. It doesnt stall all the time but is quite frequent and can be quite dangerous at junctions.
Please help:(

Clean the throttle body and idle valve with carb cleaner.

It could be, but I'd go for cleaninght ethrottle flap first.

If it is a 320 it is the ALL electronic 24 valve engine.

I have booked her in to my local specalist today and over the phone said it is most likely the throttle that needs cleaning. He is also going to do full diagnostics and check the loom while he has got it. Its going in on Thursday and I will keep you posted on what they find:confused: .
Cheers

W124 320e stalling problems. Help needed! UPDATED!!

The specialist I took her to discovered I had a faulty MAF sensor, he replaced it and now all is well for now. He also said that the loom will need replacing in the future but isnt causing any problems as of yet. The Garage I took her to is called AutoSpec and I was very pleased with service I got.:D
