W124 AMG E36 Coupe !!

That is a very example, but has spent ALOT of it's recent life for sale.
It was on Autotrader until very recently at a dealer, with those same photos.

There are/were two on PH last month. Maybe this was one. One was £9995 the other £10495.

Got to love lazy Ebayers who can't be ar5ed to type in the details. Though, as he says it's got 4 doors, it's probably just as well. ;)

Real shame these and the other high end coupes never got the Sportline interior.

Why does this always come up?
For the later coupes there is no such thing. A slightly smaller wheel and logo'd gearknob do not an interior make - indeed, this may have a leather gearknob with E36 embossed on it and in the photo it is hard to tell how wide the bottom spoke on the wheel is. EDIT. scratch that the C&C photo clearly shows a standard wheel.
The seats are the same basic recaros as you get in the saloon, estate Sportline option just without the fancy side bolster stitching/perforations. In this case they are heated, memory, ortho. What else is there?

Early this year you mentioned your relative near Brighton with a poorly E320 saloon.

Did he get it sorted as a runner eventually or was it sent to the scrappy ??

Does it ..? It was just a personal opinion based on the fact that I think the larger bolstered, fancy stitched seats look nicer :) And yes they do fit, just not by Mercedes from new :(

I agree that the proper sportline seats look better. I wonder if MB didn't fit them to the coupe/convertible because it wouldn't allow the seats to fold forwards so well?

Thats apparently the reason for it. A retro fit is possible, but if your going to do that Recaro C's are a better option.

< 5 miles from me so I could take peek for someone.

I googled them and this came up as the first hit, mixed opinions.

I like the Recaros but there is something about the Sportlines

The sportline seats do look nice, but notice the lack of buttons on the side to fold them forward.

Indeed............but there is a technical reason for that...........Yanks are too fat to fit in the back seats, so they are redundant. :)
