W124 bike roof rack

I have a few plans to go biking up north and maybe in europe as well. I'll be taking my W124 saloon, only problem is I don't know what bike rack or carrier system to go for. We have 3 mountain bikes, and it would be nice to have a carrier system which can hold all 3 on the roof. Thule seems to do good ones, but they seem pretty expensive.

Anyone have any ideas?
