Soon to be a 2013 A Class
Well, while I wait for my raditor weld/glue stuff to arrive, I decided to tackle the next issue - Namely the interior fan which doesn't work.

I removed it (It's the one with the wheel on each side like this: MERCEDES E CLASS HEATER FAN WITH A/ C TWIN FANS W124 | eBay ) and it was siezed solid. After an hour with some WD40 it's now turning but very stiff still. I tried to connect it up but it still doesn't move. I suspect it's just too tight still (Fuse is good).

Does anyone know if these can be refurbished in the Midlands at all for less than the £100 they go for on eBay?

I haven't even driven the car yet, so don't want to spend money if I find out the 4matic is knackered or something else silly expensive.

Many thanks - Daniel

A Bosch agent will be able to provide you with a new motor for about £68

Thank you Ian. I shall phone around.

PS - Your website doesn't work.

After phoning around, the cheapest I can get it for is £90 (Motor Only). Does anyone know where else I can try?

I have been looking for one this week, There are quite a few different sellers on ebay selling them for around £60 search term 'w124 fan motor'
see also http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/interior/142459-w124-heater-fan-removal.html
The plastic casing on mine is labelled Behr the motor itself though is Bosch. Once out of the car it only needed cleaning and oiling.
y car is a 1996 W124 300d estate without aircon. it has a single sided fan. the resistor is under the windscreen. An hour and a half to remove and refit.
