Hi all,

I am looking for a bonnet and front wings for my w124 facelift coupe on a 1996, and would appreciate some advice.

Firstly, would anyone have any recommendations on where to source these parts new? Depending on price, I may have to look at pattern parts, and would appreciate feedback from anyone who used a particular manufacturer.

Secondly - are all w124 bonnets the same? Im sure the wings will not fit, but would appreciate if this could be confirmed.

I have my car in a bodyshop at the moment, and aside a few rust holes (!) am looking forward to the finished result...!

Best,

Adil

W124's bonnet arent all the same, pre facelift are more straight near the grill area

I used non oe wings for this and they do fit,

Thanks,

Will look at non OE in this case.

Will all face lift bonnets therefore fit all face lift w124s, regardless of coupe or saloon?

Best

All facelift bonnets are the same - coupe, saloon, cabrio or estate. A pre facelift bonnet will fit you car but facelift headlights have scalloped inner edges to suit the facelift bonnet.

If you want to keep it simple then go for a facelift style bonnet.

Many thanks.

Have found a face lift bonnet for my car.

It is also a face lift w124 coupe being a 1996 model.

Have also bought pattern wings new - a third the price.

Hopefully the fit will not disappoint.

Thanks all

Adil

^^ Look closer at the panel gaps/alignment around the indicators/corner of the bonnet/headlamp and the panel below the h/lamp. Also the chrome trim on the cladding doesn't line up with the door

At some point before i bought it someone fitted a pattern front offside wing to mine... no idea if they had to tweak things to get it to fit but despite the panel gaps and trim alignment being good it's still very wrong where the corner of the headlamp/indicator/bonnet meet it

All that is fixable. Look at the gap between the wing and the top of the door!

The problem is always round the base of the A pillar. Pattern wings always seem to tight round the A popular and the shut line between the door & wong opens up at the top as a result

I find that, if I look long enough at photos of C124 front ends, I can convince myself that something is wrong with all of them.
The two photos in this thread are surely no better and no worse than any others, in terms of panel fit.
An enviably nice car, whatever the verdict on oe panels.
