Hi guys. I have owned my e280 for 3 years 60,000 miles. In this 3 years the only problem i had was a ignition coil, this caused it to missfire as though it was running on 4 cylinders, replacement of this coil solved this problem. Now a similar problem has occured, as i was driving along the car started missfiring with loss power but not quite as bad as when the coil went down, it still idled althoughvery lumpy. The strange thing is that when the engine is switched off and restarted it runs sweetas a nut for a while then goes lumpy again. I did actually run it almost on empty fuel before this. Could it be a clogged fuel filter. What is the way of testing the coils. Any help greatly appreciated as i need the car thisweekend. Thanxs.

Could possibly be air flow meter. With the engine ticking over and lumpy dissconnect the plug from the maf to see if there is a difference.

Already replaced loom last year

Sorry mate i forgot to mention i replaced loom last year.

it could be many things including the extension pieces under the coils, if those were not changed.

Ideally you need to test the fault codes - where you based ?

I am based in leeds mate.
