W124 E36 AMG estate Project

what a car that could be, but i fear it will be bought and stripped down for parts

The lucky part is that he does not accept overseas bidder :thumb:
Will give the chap a call tomorrow and take it from there :D

If Dash does not rescue it. I'm sure a certain Mr Walker and I will.

John: It all depends how much he wants for it as considering it`s state is not worth much

I guess a problem could be if the ECU is blown. You won't know until it's all back together and a new one is about £1500. Finding a scrappy one will be nigh on impossible.

I still have a spare 3.6 engine if anyone buys it. ;)

I spoken to the chap and is a very nice and honest guy.The reserve is dead cheap but he's already got people from abroad enquiring :wallbash:
I'm aware it needs a fair bit of money spent on it but it's worth saving as it would be a great shame to see it being broken
What do you chaps think it's gona go for as the seller won't end the auction??

Buy it man!

Buy it man!

Not saying I'm not, just asking what's a fair price on it.You've to remember that all the work that need doing is something I can't do myself so it'll cost a fair bit

I'd say if the total cost (after repair) is within £8-10k then its a decent deal, given how rare a good 124 E36 estate is! Just look at Jay's and feel inspired! Not sure how much his total spend was though...

I see what you're saying but this will need more work than Jay's one
Also I don't care how much the car is worth to others,it's what is worth to me that matters & £8-10k for close 190+k miles on it,are you sure

yep the 191K miles makes it quite expensive. Okay there are only 7 of them in the UK but restoring it for say 8 -10K plus purchase cost means it will be sinking money in that you will never get back. The track record for older mercedes appreciating in value is typically convertible followed by coupe. Unfortunately, estates do not have that desirability which will affect value
