E36 AMG saloon is better for being RHD and rarer.
But it slower, with less engineering, I suppose.
500E is faster and probably more refined, with Porsche engineering.
More expensive to run and LHD could be a problem - although I totally understand that any problem with LHD is fully subjective and not a problem for all.
Hopefully that answer will appease anyone who will read it, being a personal balanced opinion, pointing out the pros and cons of both cars. Then this can spark a healthy debate that no one will ever find offensive

I have asked myself this question. I think I will go for e500 if/ when replacing my E36 as i think it is a step up in engineering terms but LHD would be a pain for me at times. Can make overtaking tricky with limited visibility. I regularly cross a toll bridge which would be fun too!

Lovely car but if I had the chance for a E500 I'd put up with LHD for the performance
