Hello All I have a W124 200TE but after speaking to other members of another forum (how dare I, but I didnt know this existed at the time) I've been told I have the later C Class engine. Does this mean I have the 4v engine or the 16v engine?
See the picture below.
And any idea what fuel management system I have? Or how I can tell what type it is.

It's a 111 16 valver.

If you only had 4 valves in total you would have a 2 cylinder engine..unless it was a 2 stroke..

Also is it a C class engine then? And any idea on the fuel management system electronic or K-jetronic?

James

Electronic, Bosch Motronic sequential.

lol... log books are useless bits of paper.. only any good when taxing your car.. they always house such rubbish information.

I love this place :)

Is anyone from up Narf (Middlesbrough area) Id love to meet a few enthusiasts. Im only a Merc Bairn of 22. but after having my fair share of cars the last being a Rover 75 CDT Conn SE, I would never drive anything else but a merc.

But , if it is a 200TE that would suggest that it is pre-facelift ( as they become E200's after that ) ...

Pre-facelifts ( with the exception of a few months ) have the 8v engine , 136bhp engine , the facelifts come with the 16v engine like yours.

What year is yours , and can we have a photo ...

Only for a very short period of time could you have the new engine in the old body , with the old name .

Its a K reg, registered 04 06 1993

Picture will come in 10 minutes, Ill go and take it round the car park and take a pic.

You could get the E220 16V in the old body as well for a while.

If its a K , chances are it's one of the 'in-betweeners' ...

Old body , with new engine and old name. has it got a big chrome grille or is the grille recessed into the bodywork ?

Thats right Dieselman , but it was called a 220TE not an E220

Here We go, I must admit she needs a wash
