Can the gearbox oil be changed on a manual box w124 300d
Thank's for the info in advance Alex.

and now for a more detailed reply

you'll need a hex key (available from halfords) to open the level/filler and drain plugs - it should be on the side of the gearbox about half way up

the drain plug is under the gearbox - undo the level/filler first and then put a container under the car and undo the drain plug.

If memory serves me correctly (and I'm happy to be corrected on this) I think you need to refill with Dexron II auto fluid - I'll check the handbook for you on that one.

Thanks Andy your too kind. :D

the only recommended oil I can find is Duckhams Uni Matic - which I'm pretty sure is Dexron II (or at least an equivalent) it may be worth checking with your dealer though - advice is free even if their oil is overpriced :)
