Dear All
I have just purchased a W124 300d estate and would like to learn more about it - ie get a "workshop" manual or "guide". Does anyone have any recommendation? I prefer printed paper, not the cd's advertisied on ebay.
Regards
Les

Haynes do a W124 manual which covers all models 1985-1993.

Before your local Hellfrauds tell you otherwise it's reference number is 3253 and it should be on their shelves as it's a "stock" item.

This looks like a brilliant resource but its on a very slow site!! Does anyone know of a faster mirror anywhere?

Thanks!!

that's the official mercedes workshop CDs (copies of which are sold on eBay) with Steve Nervig's "shareware" index system.

...thank you for the replies. The reason I wanted printed stuff was that in Russia, garages don't generally have pc's lying around and that pictures are worth thousands of words (more in Russia). The online link is VERY good - bookmarked now! Haynes - summary I saw did not cover W124 300D estate? but I located a very nice shop close to Leicester Square in London called Motor Books I think - 2 possible books - one by "Technibooks" and one by "Russek". I'm looking at them Friday lunchtime.

it does cover the estate models all that are excluded are the (quote from back of manual)
"convertible, limousine. or E-class range introduced August 1993, nor 4-cylinder 16-valve or v8 petrol engines"

I've got the manual and there is plenty of estate specific stuff in there.

There's also a book called "The Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W124) Owner's Bible™: 1986-1995" published by Bentley and written by Stu Ritter.
