Dear All,

I was having problems with my current drivers side front seat belt on my W124 E220 Convertible, so I managed to source what I thought was a replacement on fleabay:eek:

I was wondering if anyone has changed or messed around with these seat belts but from the picture attached....am I right to say there are different as the one from flebay which is on the LEFT (from a W124 saloon) is different from my original which is on the RIGHT? The part shown in the picture is of the bottom end of the seat belt fitting which has a number 17 bolt that screws into the chassic and is covered with a plastic strip and a spring.

Thanks guys
Ash

Saloon and estate seat belts, are not interchangeable with the coupe or convertible.

Drop me a pm if you have no luck, I expect I've got one somewhere.
Thanks a million. It would seem like I might just be in contact with you. I will have a look on Monday to see if the guy I bought it from will refund/exhange and then I will get back to you.

Thanks again

the coupe and cab have a spring assembly inside to force the belt to the floor
level, so passengers from rear seat can get in and out more easily without tripping on seat belt.

Incidentally, many of these belts have previously been disconnected for repairs etc and lack of knowledge about how to reset the spring mechanism means the front belts no longer get forced to floor level, so passengers in rear get tangled/tripped up.

I have actually experienced just exactly what you have described myself....nearly kissed the good earth with a smack

Thanks alot.
Speak soon. Just pm me either way if you have any luck.
