w164 central jack point?

Hey guys,

i want to lift the front of my w164 ml350 to get both wheels of the ground, i have looked underneath and there is a notch out of the under tray which reveals possibly a part of the front crosmember? Its a rectangle shape cut out

Is it safe to jack here? Most bmws ive worked on have a notch in a similar place however they usually include a big chunk of rubber which really lets you know its ok to jack there?

I've seen this and was too windy to chance it.

Maybe jack it up using known-good jacking points and when you take the undertrays off (as you always need to) have a look to see if it's substantial enough.

If I find myself under the car soon (trays are off already) I'll have a look.

MB can be jacked up centrally...there is usually a block to identify where. Between engine and gearbox?
