Evening all... My 2007 ML63 is overdue for a service on time, and the warning comes up every time I start it. I'd like to clear it...

The car has Assyst Plus. I found this on the Internet:

  1. 1. Initiate the ASSYST PLUS system:
    • Turn the ignition on, allowing the instrument cluster dials to sweep

    • Hold down the phone button and the OK button simultaneously until the Vehicle Data menu appears. THIS is where I get stuck; which phone button? There are five altogether... The phone 'call' and 'hang up' buttons on the steering wheel, and the same, and the 'TEL' button on the COMAND unit. Does anybody know which it is?

Does this help?

Tried that; didn't work. I have ASSYST Plus on mine, though.

The instruction I copied and pasted from begins: "To clear the service overdue message on a Mercedes-Benz W164, you'll need to use the instrument cluster buttons to navigate the vehicle's menu system and confirm that the service has been completed. The process involves activating the ASSYST PLUS system, selecting the "Full Service" option, and confirming the service carried out."

Reading that last again, though, I think light may have dawned. The 'instrument cluster buttons' are in fact on the steering wheel, so the 'phone' button must be on the steering wheel too. The upper left button on the left side functions as an OK button to acknowledge the service overdue message, so maybe that is the one I want as well. Clear as mud, but I'll try that combination tomorrow and see if it does the trick.

And in fact. I've just found another version of the same procedure that refers to 'steering wheel buttons' where the other version has 'instrument cluster buttons'. Fingers crossed...

Nope, that doesn't work either. All four buttons on the left side of the steering wheel clear the service overdue message on turning on the ignition, but the handbook just says that a 'suitable specialist workshop' is needed to reset that message. Bugger...

Hi is the car going in for a service if so they would reset it

From memory, on my previous cars, the info screen had to be on a certain screen first before it works all work, plus ignition at a certain point. Sorry can't remember which screen or whether it was ignition I or II

Have you tried the below

1) Place Key in Position 1
2) Cycle cluster screen to Odometer
3) Push mileage reset button 3 times

Oh, I tried that early on, long before you posted it. I've tried every variation I can find on the internet to get into the service menu, but nothing works. Could somebody with a WIS let me have the relevant MB worksheet to reset the 'service overdue' message, perhaps (he said hopefully...)? The VIN is WDC1641772A186614.

If I can't sort it out, I'll just have to keep on cancelling it every time until it goes in to Terry Gates for a service in a few months' time. It's irritating, though...
