W166 2015 door mirror dismantle.

Hi as per title.

Bro in law's ML o/s door mirror was hit and took out the glass and indicator. Mirror casing is undamaged and indicator still works but craked.

The mirror glass relacement is self-explanitory but any tips on removing the casing to get to the indicator unit appreciated.

Also can anyone recommend an aftermarket indicator unit or should he brace himself and go genuine MB?

I think I’d stick to MB parts counter for indicators. If too pricey then a breaker could supply for less. I’d stick with new from the dealer though.
