you have probably noticed the posts i have been putting up about my W202 c class needing a new ecu well driving it to mc donalds today it suddenly burst back into life so what im thinking was a clogged fuel injector.

but it runs sweet as a nut now.

i cant explain it

can you.......

Your description sounds like a coil pack or HT lead going down. Is it misfiring at all?

yea as if theres only half the ammount of power the coil packs are brand new

and yea its like 2 cylinders are missfireing

merc said the ecu wasnt reading the idle or somthing but how comes all of a sudden it sparked back to life if a chip blows it dont come back to life

It could be the crank sensor gone faulty then.

As you say ECU's don't generally heal so it could just be a bad connection.

Dry joints are often temperature related when it comes to ECUs, or any output device could soon cut off, if thermal contact was lost

i think im gonna just cut my losses and put the car up on ebay and start again with a newer c class (1997-1998) and hopefully i wont have the same problem glasses value the car at £2175 i paid £1600 so if i get 1600 for it again i will be happy
