W203 220 CDI Estate
Hello - I am in need of advice.
My 2006 83K miles, W203 Sport Estate CDI has a weird problem which i cannot pin down at all.

When driving (usually when engine is warmed up) all the power in the car just cuts out and all needles drop to zero. Then a second later is just kicks back into life as it nothing has happened. No fault codes or messages appear. the car then continues flawlessly for the remainder of the journey.

This tends to happen infrequently but when it does its after I have driven the car until its warmed up, then turned off the engine and then gone out in it again, say 30 minutes later.

I thought the problem had gone away when I had a new battery fitted in November last year as the problem never happened again, but it did it again last week and yesterday. Could this be something related to the hot weather ? As this is the only time it seems to happen.

I got all the connections & earth link checked out when the battery was replaced as all was good.

Any ideas anyone ???
Cheers

I'm thinking fueling if it's only happening when warmed up, otherwise it'd be happening when cold if electrical. Unless when hot an electrical joint is opening up.
Could do with diagnostics really though to see if there's a stored fault code.

Thanks for the advice. I did get the garage to check the fault codes when it was serviced last and they said there was nothing stored that related to the problem I was experiencing. Obviously when they took it out to test it the problem did not happen !! It only seems to happen when i am alone in the car, so perhaps its me !

I would go to an Indies with Star, it might unearth more than a generic reader, assuming it was generic.

But as a simple thought of what possible it could be the turbo actuator??
