Here is the concluding remark. After the installation of the new Alternator, the red battery sign has disappeared, thankfully!

-The alternator was really tricky. It behaved ok when I was monitoring but slowly created some problems like giving 16.3V.

-Local dealer could not find the issue and suggested to replace whole ECU. It would have costed me an arm and leg.

Thanks for letting us know. Yes, I think intermittent voltage anomalies can be a sign that the voltage regulator is on its way out. It may well be that you only needed to change the regulator, rather than the whole alternator, but a new alternator will have eliminated any doubt.
