The washers have failed on the above car.
I hoped that the fuse diagram below would help.
Does anyone know which fuse may be responsible ?
Thanks.
J.

AND ...
NO - They are not frozen.
YES - I have used a piece of wire to make sure the jets are not blocked.

Sadly - No reply ...
I can find no reference to the screen-wash electric pump.
As the same button operates the wash as operates the wipe, I can only guess that it is the same fuse in the supply line.
The wiper function is working, but the wash function is not.
If my assumption is correct, then the problem is not the fuse.
[Fuse 46 in the engine compartment fuse box and the associated relay(s)].

It's a pity that the weather is so horrible.
It looks like I'm going to have to get under the left hand front wheel arch and check it out.
Damn !!

I’ve just checked my Haynes C class manual and I can’t see a fuse for a Screenwash pump either .
I think you will have to check the L wheel arch .
You might as well order a new pump because they are cheap and fit it anyway ?

Not sure if it applies to all 203 C class but on some they will not spray if either of the frond doors is open or the bonnet is not closed properly.

There is then a fault finding path through whichever switches monitor the doors and bonnet.

Thanks guys.
Much appreciated.
The washers on this car have never appeared too enthusiastic in operation.
More of a half-hearted piddle than a proper effort.
This car had been poorly-maintained in so many ways .... :(
I had to broddle the jets with a wire to get them to work at all.
I suspect I am going to find a washer bottle full of algae.
Also the filter on the pump.
I think I'll buy a spare pump before I start the job.
I only want to get underneath once !!

I’m not a 100% but there might be 2 pumps , a white and a black one ??? I can’t remember it was a couple of years ago .

Thanks W1ghty.
I've had a look on Nemiga Parts.
There may be more than one pump if the car has headlamp washers or rear screen washers.
Our car is the SE Coupe (W2037422), it has neither, so I guess there will only be one pump.
There is a confusing variety of part nos on Nemiga.
So - I've sent the query to MB of Newcastle for the pump and the grommet in which it fits.
They may not be the cheapest, but they're usually very helpful.
Fingers crossed.

To avoid confusion, I ordered the pump from MB.
I paid top-dollar for it.
I soon learned I could have got the same pump much cheaper.
The washer bottle was surprisingly clean.
I expected a lot of algae, but this was not a problem.
The problem was just the pump that had failed.
The pump was MB Pt No. MA221 869 01 21.
I also ordered the grommet - MA123 997 36 81
Changing the pump and grommet was not too difficult.

The black plastic cover that is fitted round the washer bottle was a bit of a mess.
It is a poorly-fitting thing - in poor condition - fastened with a number of plastic push-rivets - half of them missing.
It was full of mud and I had to get the pressure hose on it to get at the pump.
I managed the get some new fixings and it is better now.

Unfortunately, the small right-angled connected that fits onto the pump nozzle was knackered and leaked badly when I tried to refit it on the new pump.
Fortunately, the black rubber hose was a tight fit and could be made to work with a short length of 6mm nylon air line and a bit of re-routing.
Success - The washers are like new.
