Hi guys, new to the forum but got a low mileage ( 33K miles ) 2002 C240 a couple of months back to practice some mechanics on and found that I enjoy having it alongside my daily driver for a relaxed and calm drive around town.

Done loads of work on it ( proper full service, plus water pump and drop links etc )
Last job was the fuel filter so want to make sure my economy is alright, it seems a bit less petrol thirsty since doing the filter.

Over the past few days the average I get around town ( average traffic, nothing major ) is 24mpg according to the dashboard, does that sound about right for this car ?

Thanks guys :)

If that is the 6 pot, I have had a couple and never found them especially frugal, especially if you take advantage of it - lovely smooth engine though which can really pick her skirts up when you need to

It has been often noted that in the real world the 280 and 320 v6s are slightly better on fuel than the 240. Both my 320 CLKs got 28 mpg easily whilst my 240 w202 struggled to get 25.
