Hi.
I have bought a cheap W203 c220 cdi 2006 and the central locking with remote only works very close to RF sensor on drivers door handle.

I checked fuse 8 and that was good.
The windows have been tinted by looks of things , should I remove the tint from the back window, wont that damage anything?
Or is it the amplifier that failed?
Where is that located and how to replace it?

Thanks

First thing you should do is try replacing the batteries in the key fob..

It will likely be the antenna amp then.

The little black square on the drivers door handle is not the RF sensor, it is for activating the auto open/close function of all windows and sunroof via the key fob.

Get pretty close up, press and hold open button on fob and all windows should wind down, and visa versa with the close button.

Thanks.
I know that there is an Amplifier hidden under the rear glass, I can see after I remove the tailgate pastic trim
I doubt it the key is faulty but I dont have a spare .
Key would intermittently work near the IR sensor on the door.
From what I read some folk claim that the only cheap fix is a new tailgate.
Other say that somebody managed to replace the amplifier in situ without glass removal.

Any ideas guys?
Would it be easy to replace the whole tailgate ? I found a good one from a late w203 .
Anyone knows how to replace the tailgate?
