I have been having this problem for some time and have seen the same problem from others but never the cure?
My2006 C220 Cdi with climate control is giving me headaches.
On auto once the engine is up to temp the heater blows almost full speed on hot in every position apart from the lowest cold position where it blows ice cold.
it had been said that the upper light housing has a fan that is connected to heater control so I tried it with another unit but still the same.
The lower control I have also changed but it also made no difference. So put both original units back in.
This started when I blew the dust ot of the fan and then done a flap reset.
I am starting to wonder if a flap is sticking but the fact it can blow cold makes me wonder.
are any flaps accessible even if only to check movement ?
I understand the version with climate control does not have a water control for temp?
Would STAR show faults or let me move the flaps independently .
