I have just bought a W203 ('04) C200 CDI and it came with the previous owners phone kit still installed. Thanks to help on this forum I am able to use my own phone with the bluetooth function of the kit, so I now want to remove the (ugly) cradle. To do this I assume I need to remove the wooden panel in the central console. As Haynes haven't seen fit to publish a W203 manual can anybody help me in removing the panel, either with a "how-to" or a link to another source?

Actually, just looking at it, it may be possible to get at the mounting by removing just the radio and cubby hole. Any ideas?

I've not got time to look at the moment, but if you do search on the forum there are illustrated instructions on how to do this. You have to unfasten the whole of the centre fascia to get at the bolts that secure the mounting plate. There are screws etc. hidden behind the vents for instance that are accessed in a particular way
