W203 Sat Nav forgets settings

Hi, I have a UK W203 2005 and the sat nav (Comand NTG2) keeps forgetting settings. At least that’s what it appears to do. What I notice is that every now and then the TA Traffic Announcement just comes on, I turn it off but then a week later it comes on again. It can be a bit of a shock while I’m driving. I don’t have a manual for the head unit as a previous owner must have retrofitted it. Can anyone advise please?

Is the TA the only settings it 'forgets'?

Yeah I think so, all the destinations and radio stations seem to still be saved

I leave mine on all the time so can't comment. I think if you turn the volume down while the announcement is playing, it should stick at that volume, if it's that making you jump.

I’ve got the TA volume at its lowest but it’s really annoying that it keeps coming on randomly.
