Hi all,

Im thinking about taking on a pre-facelift W204 from a family member and lately they've been having issues with the ABS / ESP intermittently throwing faults. The code was read by a mechanic and was an error regarding communication being lost. So my thinking here is to take the connector off the module, and give it a blast with some contact cleaner.

It appears however that the removal / locking mechinisim for the connector is damaged from fatigue or similar as its meant to pull the connector out as you lift the cover, but it doesnt and the red circled areas in this picture are missing / damaged;

Does anyone know how / if its possible now to remove the connector as I cant get it to unlock and lifting the latch pieces that remain by hand doesnt seem to exert enough force on the connector to unlock it.
Additionally is it possible to replace this part of the loom with a connector that isnt broken?

TIA
