w204 c220 remap - Do i need the gearbox updated?

Good morning all,

I have decided to put my C220 in for a remap. I have had numerous quotes off remappers and a few have advised they would update the gearbox for an extra charge.

When I have asked what the gearbox update is for they advise it updates the torque limiters.

My question: Is this necessary? what are the benefits to updating the torque limits?

I presume this is some 3rd party TCU tuning as apposed to a factory software update ?

I have no idea, thats all they say is the update will change the torque limits.

Must be tuning the TCU to allow more torque to be allowed .

Not that I've noticed, throttle seems pretty responsive

My last ECU tuning by MEGA SPEED - die Tuningprofis. Chiptuning für Ihr Fahrzeug. included the transmission in the remap. Didn't have to pay anything extra.

I do think it's needed to match the engine's parameters.
