Hi all, I’m new here and glad to join this community.

First of all, I want to apologise for my English, as it is not my first language. I own a late 11 facelift w204 c63 for three month, 79k miles on the clock. The car has been amazing and trouble-free.

However, when I got home yesterday from a round trip to Oxford from London, I found some burning smell in the cabin when I parked my car. There were some white smoke coming from front - passenger side of the car. I suspect the smell and smoke was due to oil burning. As soon as I turned off the engine, I opened the bonnet and found the origin of the smell and smoke.

Did some research online, seems like it’s due to leaky valve cover gasket, and drops of oil got burnt on hot exhaust manifold/pipe. I used a long stick covered by some tissues, and found dark engine oil above the manifold. Can anyone confirm my suspicion and/or confirm the gaskets aren't a major/expensive job? Could somebody please give me some reassurance?

Will contact Bmerc/Terry which are reputable specialist in London tomorrow. Hope it is not an expensive job. Thank you and much love to you.

Hi and welcome to the forum, sure someone will be along to help, offer advice.

White smoke is not normally oil burning, white smoke or steam is usually a coolant(water) leak.
Was the temp gauge at normal level?
