I have had my 2008 C200 for 3 months now and my only complaint about it is the Headlights arn't very good at all.
I feel uneasy driving on unlit winding roads
Not sure if this is a common complaint or if there is a problem with my car.:dk:

If it is a common issue i could do with some advice on what i can do to improve , i.e bulb upgrade or convert to Xenon's.

Need some advice people :D

Thanks :thumb:

The only comment I would make about mine is that the dipped beam seems a bit short, very little distance view. Main beam is fine but you obviously need to be quick with oncoming traffic. I'm presuming mine are adjusted OK as it passed the MOT. I don't do a lot of night driving so not that worried.

My daily commute is on approx 25 miles of country roads that are unlit and I was never totally happy with the standard halogen lights on my W204, especially in the wet when contrast levels are lower.

Philips Xtreme Power or Osram Nightbreaker bulbs do improve matters a bit, although their lifespan didn't impress me much. The only real answer is to drive slower at night!

I upgraded to a HID kit, much better also consider changing your side lights to LED bulbs can change them yourself and makes it look much more modern. i then went and changed the front fog lights to the amg day time running lights . looks much better. but answer to your question is get a good HID kit fitted looks much better.

Have you fitted LED side light bulbs or were they on your car already?
Going to look online for bulbs but if you know where to get them , it would be much appreciated !

Try Philips X-tremeVision bulb
HID bulbs are not suitable for non-HID projector
Currently I'm using HOD bulbs. I feel it's better than Philips. It's just that I don't remember where I got them. I'll try to search for the info

Well got LED side lights off ebay! Good price and they are the ' error free ' ones !
What a nightmare to fit :-(
But look good and bring car up to date with looks!
Ands have now found LED daytime running lights that fit over fog lights

Mercedes C Class W204 (07-10) Custom Fit Daytime Running Light Grilles - E Mark | eBay

Just need advice on the wiring before i buy! Is there a connection on car already?

Advice much appreciated

Thanks

^ +1

Don't be tempted to try and replace the halogen headlight bulbs with LED's. Standard headlight reflectors are the wrong shape and will not project the light beam ahead, they will just blind oncoming traffic.
As already mentioned go for Osram Night-Breaker+ or Philips X-tremeVision.

Fitted Osram Nightbreak plus and not noticed any real improvement.
I did think about HID conversion but i see on previous reply it is not comapatable.

So not sure of my next option?

Might have to just put up with the poor headlight vision and brightness :-(
