I am a newbie to this forum so should probably start out by saying hello. Hello!

I have a W204 Sport which other than thoroughly detailing I haven't done much to but I am now pondering a few AMG mods.

Now I really hate trying to make a car something it's not but I want to bring some of the C63 design to my lowly sport. To kick off I really want to remove the chrome strips just above the lower sills. Does anyone know that if I remove them that I would be left with anything other than a bit of glue on paint?

I've done a search to see if anyone else on here has done this but to no avail. Hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance.

Chris

You would probably need to replace the whole strip. I imagine it would look awkward as I believe the chrome strip fits into a cut-out so you'd be exposing that too. There may even be some holes in the trim if there are any clips (which I imagine there may be) as opposed to it just being glued in.

Hope this helps...

Hi and welcome AMG door pins are a rare little trinket to add:thumb:

Just to update, I took the plunge and took off the strips and happy to say there were no fixings and it looks great. Just gives the side profile of the car a cleaner look.

Can you post some pictures? Would be keen to see how it looks.

Well done for giving it a go!

Hi chris welcome to the forum from a fellow w204 owner they are well built cars enjoy

The best W204 mod IMO is a non-sport grill on a sport, complete with bonnet star.

why? whats wrong with the sport grill? - it's only one worth having - even made me change from BMW 3series (and I had 4 of those on the trot!). It makes the car appeal to the "under 65s"

Don't get tempted to change the 'standard' Sport grille for the black, chrome edged AMG C63 version like I was - it won't fit.
