Hi all, well here goes 1st post i have recently purchased a W204 320cdi 2007 with Comand APS+DVD changer my query is paired nokia 5800 ok with the cars bluetooth, the car is not pre-wired no cradle etc when recieving a call what should ring? mobile/ mobile+car/car? at the moment only the mobile rings no sound from the car,on my previous car 02 BMW the head unit would ring so to speak not the phone just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with the BT Comand system,on MB web site it mentions "inband ringtone" with the Nokia 5800 any advice greatly appreciated cheers Davy.

Yes paired with car ok, but as post stated only mobile rings and i dont know if this is correct.

The phone was paired and also authorised to automatically accept connections from the car? Or manually connected to the car while an incoming call occurred?

I just tried my son's phone at my wife's car and the ring tone appeared from the car's speakers. I did not check the phone profile settings, could it use a specific HF profile at the car where perhaps the ring tone was muted?

I also get the ringtone through the cars speakers. When you call the phone and the headunit is in telephone mode does it show incoming call? If it does try turning the volume knob up.

Thanks for the replys, the phone automatically pairs with the car when the ignition is turned on, and when recieving a call the head unit shows the call and asks whether to accept or decline so that part seems to be ok, but still no ring tone through the speakers! everything else seems to work ok any advice?

Have you checked this?

Hoping I'm not teaching granny to suck eggs, but check the profile that's being used by the phone when it's connected to the car. It will be in the Enhancements menu on the phone, and it could be that it's set to "Silent" rather than "Active Profile".

This:

is worth a try, too. The car "remembers" the volume setting on the headunit for both ringer volume and call volume. Get someone to dial your mobile number and while the car is offering you the option to accept or reject the call, turn up the volume on the head unit.

The final option is that Bluetooth is flaky on your 5800. Have you tried another phone?

Well dont really know how but all is ok had my daughter ring the car and hey presto my personel ringtone through the speakers! once again thanks to those who resplied Cheers Davy.
