The Mercedes-Benz C-class has solid build quality, stylish looks, along and good cabin space. Sport models are great to drive.
There is some wind noise at higher speeds, but otherwise there's not much else to moan about.
There are reports of gearbox software problems, key issues and engine gremlins.
The C-class is great, regardless of whether you want your ride to be traditional or comfortable, or sporty and dynamic.

All models come with with Agility Control Suspension system.
Early automatic models required a software upgrade to improve gear changes.

That is true, I thought the 350 CDI engines had 265 BHP too?? But this was the info I was supplied with, anyone else who sees this thread... THE C350 CDI HAS 265 BHP, not 231... Thanks for your input guys.

What I should say in the facelifted 7g cars defence is the jump of MPG.

In a 5g car the engine is doing 70mph at 2000rpm in 7g its 1800rpm. Surely not enough of a drop to change the MPG to the better.

However, it will be improved.

It should perhaps be pointed out that figures like these are pretty academic although they have a use for comparison purposes. Countless road tests find that in real world driving many of these figures are simply not achievable on a routine basis. If anything it's the Mercedes diesel engines that tend to be more optimistic rather than the petrols. More relevant perhaps is the quiet "torquey" nature of the new turbocharged petrols which are a vast improvement on the previous " whiney" kompressor engines. In the longer term the repair costs of the twin turbo 4 cylinder diesels with their valve gear at the rear of the engine ! and chequered injector history may make for "interesting reading" in the future.
