Good Morning,

I have a 2016 W205 C 250 BlueTEC

I am having Intermittent issues with ESP faults (more common) and occasional Collision Prevention Assist faults coming up. The disappear as soon as I restart the car and I might not see them for another 2-300 miles.

The Collision Prevention Assist faults seem to tie in with the Stop/Start going a bit haywire on the screen flashing between green and yellow.

Could this be a voltage regulator/stabiliser issue? I have owned the car around 4 years and not changed it, Also cannot see any evidence it has ever been changed.

Welcome to the forum.

A failing batter can be responsible for random faults such as those you describe.

If the battery is the original then it is probably due for replacement.

Thank you, I replaced the battery around 2 years ago albeit with a Aftermarket battery 115 Rombat AGM Start/Stop.

CCA (EN)
800
Volts
12
capacity (ah)
80

Could the battery be of too poor quality?

Genuine batteries are better. To save any guesswork, you need to get it plugged in to a Xentry machine for accurate diag.

Thank you,

I can't PM you as I am new, but you are actually not far away from me I am in Alton. Could you send me a PM with a cost to take a look?

Of course it's possible. Can you have someone test the battery?

Charge it for 24 hours , and see how you get on. 👍

Think you may also have the auxiliary capacitor pack for the stop start . Under the glovebox

£60 for the plug in. Any additional work required after initial plug in its £95/hr plus vat.
